Poland follows a citizenship rule that is called "Ius Sanguinis" - the rule of blood. As long as one of your parents has this Polish blood relationship, you have it too. This means generation after generation could've been born outside of Polish borders, and citizenship is still your birthright. In most cases, the families are not even aware of that happening! You just need to make sure that: A) you have a Polish document proof about your ancestors and B) the line was not broken, i.e. no circumstances of losing one's Polish citizenship occurred. The most common are: service in the armed forces or public office before 1951 (the exception being made for Allied service in the 2WW). In some cases, naturalisation or being born in wedlock or not are also deciding factors. Our specialists will help you make sure, just fill in our free survey. Analysis is free of charge.
